One of the most common injuries demonstrated are achilles tendon injuries. They effect people of all ages but especially in middle age – walkers and runners. Ensuringthe diagnosis is accurate with the use of our in-room ultrasound the SPARC sports doctors and physicians are able to diagnose your condition. Achilles tendinopathy responds well to simple exercises (surgery is rarely if ever needed) that can be demonstrated to you by the SPARC practitioners.

An ultrasound of a swollen achilles tendon is shown here.

Exercise therapy works in 50-90% (research papers) in achilles tendinopathy.

Some tendon injuries require other interventions and at SPARC this is possible. Blood injections, Platelet Rich Plasma injections, Dilatation, Corticosteroid injections are all done at SPARC by our practitioners. In the area of blood/platelets/stem cells Dr Walker is considered a specialist in this field.
