Matt graduated from La Trobe University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences and Masters of Podiatric Practice. Matt has worked since his graduate year in sports podiatry and has worked with some of Australia’s and South Australia’s top athletes. Matt is also an elite athlete himself, representing Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This has given him a specific insight early into his career to develop an appreciation for the role podiatry plays in injury prevention, management of lower limb complications and performance gains.

Personal involvement in sport is a core value for Matt. As well as being an athlete for Team Tempo, he is also the coach for the juniors’ program (accredited coach with Athletics Australia). He has over nine years’ experience with coaching and has worked with four Olympic level coaches across Victoria and South Australia, both privately and through the school system.

This has further nurtured his skills in:
- Identifying and reducing training errors
- Implementing appropriate load management programs
- Understanding the various and specific needs of athletes at any level
- Collaborative healthcare
- Putting theory into practice
